Proof / Case — Daemon

Meet Daemon.
It runs on an €80 computer.

Daemon is the founder's personal instance of Hermes, an open agent framework — extended with custom skills, plugins and integrations until it became something like a staff. It is the agentic-system deliverable, lived in daily.

Pi 5

the entire agent runs on a single Raspberry Pi 5. Its voice satellite, Sara, runs on a Compute Module 4. A few watts, total.

25+

skill domains installed: email, iCloud, smart home, research, media, devops, social, computer use — each one a capability Daemon can exercise.

11

AI art frames under its control — 9 LCD Zoetropes and 2 e-ink — for portraits, murals, messages and the morning editions.

24/7

reachable by voice, bracelet, phone call, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email. The interfaces differ; the brain is one.

A day with Daemon

What an agent does
when it's actually finished.

07:00Morning editions

The house gets its newspaper

Daemon generates a daily tech journal and the day's ephemerides, and displays them across two large Zoetropes and two e-ink frames. Nobody asked that morning. It's Tuesday; it knows what to do.

09:30Reality streaming

The bracelet is the interface

Out of the house, the founder speaks a wake phrase into a Bee.computer wearable. The realtime transcript streams to Daemon — and to Honcho, its long-term memory — which executes and confirms by voice, Telegram or WhatsApp, whichever fits. A Looki L1 camera streams what he sees to the same brain.

11:00Sara, the office ear

"OK Daemon"

In the office, a home-built voice satellite — SaraKIT board, Compute Module 4 — detects the wake word locally, transcribes the command, and hands it to Daemon over the LAN. The satellite stays deliberately dumb: one brain, many ears.

13:00Telephony

A friend calls the agent

The custom Telephony skill works both ways: Daemon phones friends to deliver spoken messages — and friends call its Belgian mobile number to book a meeting with the founder, ask what he's been up to, or ask anything the internet knows. When the founder calls, the same number is the whole agent — every skill Daemon has, by voice: lamps and plugs, the frame fleet, documents fetched over SSH and emailed, inbox, research, smart home. Caller ID decides the tier; strangers need a PIN; wrong PINs get banned. Full story in Field Notes.

15:00Remote hands

Housekeeping on the Mac

Skills connect remotely to the founder's Mac to manage iCloud services — the digital chores nobody enjoys, done by something that doesn't get bored.

18:00The fleet

Eleven frames, one conductor

Daemon puts frames to sleep, wakes them, makes them speak, paints portraits of every family member, or commissions a themed mural — jungle animals, each frame in a different style. The house is its canvas.

AlwaysGuardrails

Logged, gated, interruptible

Every action is logged. Contacts and outbound actions have confirmation flows. Proactive modes are rate-limited. The rules we apply to client systems were tested here first — on the system we trust with our own phone book.

Why it matters to you

FIG. 02

This is the deliverable.
We just live in it.

Everything on our turnkey agent system list — the platform, the integrations, the custom skills, the control surface, the guardrails — exists here, running in production, since months, on hardware that costs less than a dinner for four.

Hermes itself isn't public, so we can't hand you a link. We can do better: describe your workflow, and we'll tell you — from daily experience, not from a slide — what an agent like this would do in it.

What would your Daemon
do all day?

Describe your operation. We'll map the agent that fits it — and quote the system that runs it.
